leaving the train just people smallOn Thursday, May 15, 2014, Mark Mulcahy and Ben Katchor present an evening of two, one-act operas. In Memorial City, a medium-sized city on the East coast of North America is overwhelmed by a mania for memorial commemoration. The Imaginary War Crimes Tribunal (world premiere) tells the story of a compulsive video game player and the thrill of “victimless” violence. The musician/singers were Ken Maiuri and Dave Trenholm. The Imagainary War Crimes Tribunal was commissioned by Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts for Target Free Thursdays at the David Rubinstein Atrium. Target is best known for its union-busting tactics and Rubinstein is co-founder and co-CEO of The Carlyle Group, one of the largest defense contractors in the world.
